Old Mutual – Most Visionary Corporate Restructuring Financial Services Sector | UK 2016

Old Mutual, formed in South Africa in 1845, can boast of over £300 billion in assets under management this year. The company has been active in international investments and savings (principally) as well as insurance and banking. The advent of Bruce Hempel as Group Chief Executive towards the end of last year resulted in a strategic review after which it was decided to separate the four underlying businesses namely, OM Emerging Markets, OM Wealth, Nedbank and OM Asset Management. This was a wise decision given the lack of synergy between the various businesses and the strong likelihood that restructuring will positively impact the future growth plans of the individual entities. BV confirms the award Most Visionary Corporate Restructuring Financial Services Sector UK to Old Mutual for the year 2016.
