ITALIAN energy group Enel has a 10-year strategy for sustainable stakeholder value and shareholder returns. It will mobilise €190bn for decarbonisation, electrification and platform development via two complementary initiatives. The ownership model focuses on direct investment in renewables, networks and customers; the stewardship model seeks to catalyse third-party investments via joint ventures, partnerships, and key services. Enel has shaved three years off the deadline to phase-out coal, and should almost triple its renewable energy production by 2030. The BV judging panel rewards Enel Group with the 2021 award for Best Corporate Growth Strategy (Italy).
