TECH Nation is officially relaunching to work with the UK government as “an independent voice” for founders, and to help tech entrepreneurs to thrive in a rapidly growing sector.
The body closed in March after losing a £12m bid for a government grant. Tech Nation 2.0 will operate as part of Founders Forum Group, carrying over programmes for ethnic minority founders, early-stage start-ups, climate protection, and late-stage businesses.
It will be the endorsing body for digital technology applications under the Global Talent visa. Objectives include producing data-driven reports on the tech ecosystem.
Wayne Johnson, CEO of the Encompass Corporation, said the relaunch was a positive step that would benefit entrepreneurs and business owners. Tech Nation would help to drive solutions development in key industries such as financial services.
“We must come together to create a marketplace that breeds innovation,” he said.
