THE NATIONWIDE Building Society helps communities thrive by putting people in homes, preventing them from losing their property and improving the home environment. Nationwide Building Society has donated one percent of pre-tax profits to charities since 2007, earmarking £22m for community grants over the next five years. This past fiscal year, Nationwide donated £4m to 99 UK housing projects, bringing the total granted thus far to £13.7m and helping 24,400 people. The society supported Covid relief efforts, as many were at risk of going hungry or falling behind on mortgage payments. The BV jury presents repeat winner Nationwide Building Society with the 2021 Best Banking CSR (UK) award.
