ACLIMA represents the Basque region’s environmental sector, and in 2019 its companies generated more than €2bn — three percent of regional GDP. The organisation promotes digitalisation, green transformation and the circular economy across six value chains: waste, contaminated soils, integral water cycle, air and climate change, ecosystems and eco-efficient production, and eco-design. Its 4.0 strategy develops solutions using big data, IoT, sensors, drones and robotics. Aclima collaborates with academic partners, government agencies and commercial entities to fuel innovation. The BV judging panel presents Aclima with the 2021 award for Outstanding Contribution to the Environmental Sector (Europe).
