With the global pandemic came many changes, remote working and social distancing among them. The trend made video conferencing app Zoom a household name, with 34.4 million downloads in the first month of 2021. Zoom users get an intuitive interface and affordable plans, including free 40-minute conference calls for up to 100 attendees. The Nasdaq-traded company (ZM) hit an all-time high in October 2020, when stocks soared above $500, and it has a market capitalisation of $107bn. The BV judging panel announces Zoom as winner of the 2021 global award for Best Video Conferencing Solutions.
