SPANISH multinational Iberdrola represents a global benchmark for sustainability transition and the fight against climate change. It has incorporated the UN’s SDGs into its business model. Its focus is on climate action and affordable clean energy, but the group contributes towards each of the 17 goals. Iberdrola has cut its emissions intensity and expects, by 2030, to have achieved 86 percent reduction over three decades. It aims to become completely carbon neutral by 2050, using renewable energies, smart grids, large-scale energy storage and digital transformation.
