FRENCH multinational retailer Carrefour publishes annual, third-party-audited reports on its CSR and food transition index — the first and only of its kind in the sector. A quarter of managers’ pay is based on the CSR index, ensuring long-term incentive to consistently improve performance. The index covers the group’s products, stores, customers and employees, with quantitative objectives and cut-off dates for each area. Carrefour exceeded 2021 targets with an achievement rate of 111 percent. The BV judging panel announces Carrefour as the repeat winner of the Best Retail CSR Strategy award (Europe 2022).
