DANISH member-owned pension provider PKA promotes diversity in the boardroom — and the biosphere. The firm has pledged to halve the carbon footprint from its real estate investments by 2025 — and for the entire portfolio of all asset classes to reach carbon-neutrality by 2050. PKA manages a fund worth more than $52bn and applies active ownership of investments to advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. It launched Scandinavia’s first private Social Capital Fund to support unemployed and disadvantaged people. It is taking the initiative to publish a TCFD report, a non-mandatory step, to underscore its climate commitments. The BV judging panel presents repeat programme winner PKA with the 2021 award for Best ESG Pension Fund (Denmark).
